What is CBD?

Cannabidiol (CBD) is a chemical compound found in the leaves and flowers of the cannabis plant. We use broad spectrum CBD which contains no THC - the part that gets you high. Will Four Twentea CBD tea get me high?

No, Four Twentea CBD tea will not get you high. There's no THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) in our tea. Whilst it's broad-spectrum and fully water soluble, we've left out the psycho-active part.

How many cups of tea do I need?

Everyone is different so there's no 'one size fits all' answer to this question. We recommend you start your dose low and slow. The Food Standards Agency suggest taking 20 mg of CBD per day to begin with. At Four Twentea that's very easy - just two delicious cuppas a day! We started this company to make taking CBD as stress-free as possible, no fiddly drops or trying to figure out how much CBD you're taking. 

See how you get on with 2 cups a day and then if you want to increase to find your sweet spot then please do. The FSA recommends not taking more than 70 mgs per day. 

If you're pregnant or breastfeeding or taking any other medication, please check with your doctor or health care professional before starting with CBD. 

Where's my order?

We aim to process all orders we receive by 2pm by the end of the working day. Miss that cut-off, and we'll get it out the next day (except Sundays). You will receive an automated order confirmation when your payment goes through. You will also receive an email confirming dispatch with a tracking number. It will either be with Hermes (now Evri as they are known) for standard delivery or with Royal Mail for the express option. 

We expect all orders to be delivered within 5 days of ordering, if not sooner. Issues outside of our control, such as staffing issues due to Covid-19, may affect the delivery times.

Please email hello@fourtwentea.com if you haven't received your order in 7 days, or if you have not received any confirmation emails. We'll do our best to sort it out and provide some clarity as we know online shopping can be very frustrating.

What's about Novel Foods?

CBD was classified as a Novel Food back in 2019. Essentially this means that all companies that sell ingestible CBD products (such as tea) should have an authorized Novel Food application with the UK Food Standards Agency. This goes to show that the company takes its due diligence seriously and has committed to testing and entering toxicology studies for its CBD.

All four Four Twentea products were authorised by the FSA in May 2022.

Whilst the process is lengthy and costly we are committed to ensuring our products are safe for our customers. In addition to our application we also have stability data for our teas and independently test each batch to ensure what we say we are selling is, indeed, what is in the box.
